1) Sustainable Energy Conservation & Efficiency


The University shall study and adapt the processes and sustainable energy usage patterns to reduce carbon footprint of the campus. This involves a change in behavior to save sustainable energy through conservation. Whereas sustainable energy efficiency permits less sustainable energy consumption without compromising on the comfort level.

  • Sustainable Energy Audit and Determining Consumption Patterns
  • Sustainable Energy Management and Demand Side Regulation
  • Incorporating Green Building Design and Ameliorating Passive Building Envelope
  • Transport Optimization via Trajectory, Demand Management and Sustainable Energy Efficient Vehicles
  • Installing Sustainable Energy Efficient Devices & Appliances Across the Campus. Retrofitting of Existing Buildings shall be Carried Out.


  • 2) Sustainable Energy Generation


    The University desires to not just be self-sufficient with regards to power generation but also be able to provide excess power to either the Grid, other universities or to the surrounding communities. This electricity production shall be preferably from renewable resources such as solar, wind and biogas. The university can develop clean coal power generation to facilitate more efficient conventional technologies.


  • Generating the Entire Day-Time Essential Load of the Campus from Solar Photovolatic Cells or Wind
  • Distributed and modular Solar PV systems optimized for individual demand sites
  • Implementation of Solar Thermal Station to Provide Base-Load Power Production and Sustainable Energy Storage
  • Large Scale PV and Wind Farms to Provide MW Scale Power Production Which can be Fed into the National-Grid.


  • 3) Sustainable Energy R&D


    The University has made sustainable energy & environment research and development as one of its top priorities. The university shall utilize its intellectual capital and resources to carry out research on applied technologies for sustainable energy efficiency and power generation.


  • Prioritize R&D on Indigenous Technologies for Sindh and Pakistan
  • Facilitate the Commercialization of Indigenously Developed Technologies to Promote Reliability and Affordability
  • The University shall study and implement international up-to-date Best Practices: Think Globally, Act Locally.
  • The University shall develop Policy Think-Tank and provide policy solutions to the Government and other stake-holder with an emphasis on sustainable energy security and environment. It shall mobilize sustainable energy research groups to develop integrated sustainable energy models with real-time data and robust simulations.
  • The University shall develop a Centre of excellence on sustainable energy Research. It can either be global or more focused, i.e., Renewable, Solar, Wind, Coal etc.


  • 4) Sustainable Energy Education


    The University shall create the future sustainable energy Engineers, Technologist, Managers, Economists and Policymakers. New sustainable energy focused modules and programs shall be introduced and the existing ones shall be strengthened.


  • Latest development in sustainable energy Education around the world shall be kept abreast of and updated curriculum shall be offered to the students.
  • International conferences, trainings and workshops shall be organized on sustainable energy with experts from Academia and Industry.
  • The students shall be encouraged to progress from theoretical education towards practical experience in order to shape engineers who are problem-solvers.
  • Collaborative, Industry supported final year projects shall be developed where students shall endeavor to find solutions to actual problems in real-world.


  • 5) Sustainable Energy Awareness and Community Outreach


    The University shall reach out to the community to create sustainable energy awareness. The university as a responsible and looked-up-to component of society shall lead by example. Efforts shall be made to encourage the community to adapt sustainable sustainable energy measures.

  • Develop Curriculum on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) with Particular Emphasis on Sustainable Energy.
  • Encourage Faculty Members & Students to become Master Trainers and Conduct Training of Trainers on ESD for Schools & Colleges.
  • Run Awareness Campaigns which have Tangible Impact on Sustainable Energy Usage Behavior.
  • Promote Social Entrepreneurship by Providing Low-Cost Clean Sustainable Energy Solutions to Society.
  • Support Socio-economic Development of Communities.
